Dr. Glenn Huth is director of the Peripheral Vascular Program at The Appleton Heart Institute. In this role, he ensures patients are evaluated for peripheral vascular disease using diagnostic procedures that rely on the most accurate technology available. He is the medical director of the Preventive Cardiovascular Programs, including the Lipid Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Significant advancements in both diagnosis and treatment options have become available to patients with vascular disease. The dedicated clinic helps ensure Appleton Cardiology Associates' patients receive the most appropriate care for peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery stenosis, and disease of the aorta. Dr. Huth performs ultrasound diagnosis and non-invasive angiography in the evaluation of vascular disease. Non-invasive angiography is performed using the Clari-T 64 slice CT scanner available at Appleton Cardiology Associates since December of 2005.
Dr. Huth has initiated advanced lipoprotein testing for patients with abnormal blood cholesterol and triglycerides. As director of the Lipid Clinic, he promotes the aggressive medical treatment of cardiovascular disease risk factors.
Patients with vascular disease often have multiple related health complications. Instead of having to visit a variety of specialists, the Vascular Clinic provides one location where they can be evaluated by a single physician with the consultation of a variety of specialists close at hand. Dr. Huth has cared for patients with vascular disease for nearly 20 years in a variety of settings. Dr. Huth received his degree in medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his internship, residency, and chief medical residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology.
Dr. Huth joined Appleton Cardiology Associates in 2002. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Vascular Medicine, and the American Board of Clinical Lipidology.
