Dr. Alaswad is one of five cardiac interventionalists at Appleton Heart Institute. He specializes in procedures designed to prevent heart attacks in at-risk patients to improve the quality of life in patients with peripheral vascular disease and stroke prevention by utilizing minimally invasive procedures. Cardiovascular interventions are non-pharmacological approach to both stopping heart attacks once they start and also preventing the artery build up that leads to leg pain, heart attack or stroke. Dr. Alaswad received his degree in medicine from Damascus University. He served residencies at Damascus University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, followed by a fellowship of preventive cardiology at Mid America Heart Institute, cardiovascular fellowship at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and cardiology and peripheral vascular interventional fellowship at Seton Hall University. Prior to joining ACA, Dr. Alaswad was an interventional cardiologist and peripheral vascular interventionalist at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, and Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology. Dr. Alaswad is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular intervention. Dr. Alaswad sees patients at both Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center campuses.
